Moderator: The viewer from Hawaii says, “In regard to my earlier question, you emphasized the importance of awareness. That is exactly what seemed to define those moments of contraction, sort of hard to describe.”
David: So the lesson is that you can’t become aware of Awareness. That’s the subtlety of this topic. That’s where you go is toward the realization that, “How can awareness possibly be aware of itself?” So there can be no duality in this. That’s what’s meant by no duality. Not that nothing appears or that you don’t see the world or that you are in a state where the world hasn’t arisen. If your eyes are open and you are talking to someone and you are perceiving things around you, you are in the world whether you admit it or not. You are subject to the effects of this world. Now Awareness, that’s something that’s very subtle and can only be known from meditation.
Meditation happens spontaneously as Being opens up to the mind. You can say that meditation is the response of the mind to the presence of Being, something that causes the mind to surrender, to actually revert back toward its non-cognitive or ...
David: The reason why we were designed in embodiment was so that we could taste the ecstasy of living. You can call it compulsory joy. The Buddhists, of course, have a hard time with this. For them relativity is a bad trip. It's a bum trip ...
Participant: So, if I experience beingness as just bliss and joy, what is everything else? David: It’s all that. It’s all that. Except it’s not so much that, when you begin to suffer, either through physical ailments or through the aging process ...
David: Yes. Participant: How can you, how can one stay connected with that type of relationship? David: Participant: How can what? Participant: …one stay connected with that type of relationship? Because, you know, living day-to-day, or being ...
The thought just occurred to me, where does the energy come from to live through this process of self-awakening? It does not come from discrete acts of human effort. It does not come from self-willed consciousness. You’ve got to begin to feel ...
Participant: I mostly want to say thank you. I was here in February… and I meant to make it back… it feels even better than it did in February, a lot of light. And on that topic of pain that you were describing, like, an example of the worst ...
Even though I speak, my teaching is one hundred percent internal. It’s a deepening, an immersion and also an outpouring from the depths. It’s bliss. It’s the language of bliss, which is the language of the heart. Real spirituality is nothing but ...
Once you begin to love me and trust in you, then everything is ready to go off into cosmic intensity. Once you begin to relax in total trust and innate surrender, one that is brought on by this very communication. It’s not something that you ...
When you speak directly out of your heart and out your experience then there is no mistake that it’s real. There is no doubt. Your own self will never lie to you. Your husband will lie, your wife will lie, your guru will lie, the religious books ...
Feel this expansive love that’s happening. So if your self is awake you should be able to feel that magnetic love pulse going on. That rhythm of love that’s in the heart, it’s like a poem, eternally and silently being recited from within itself. ...
Anyway, you better ask me questions because I'll just keep talking. The reason I keep talking is, I don't want to go into deep meditation. I want to stay with you. I'm just being drawn back, tempted to go into That. I don't want to do that. I ...
