David: Energy or Shakti is the wave undulation that is set up at the core of nothingness as nothingness’s other nature. Action and silence never meet, yet we have to posit the reality of relativity, so we introduce the notion of energy. At the very highest vibration of energy, everything becomes Absolute again. It leaves itself. Energy departs from itself and enters into that ocean of Consciousness.
We say enters into, but that’s just a metaphorical way of speaking. It doesn’t enter into anything, but there’s no way to discuss what that union of energy and silence is like. So, you create prepositions, and you create metaphors to try to account for that very, very subtle relationship between Consciousness and energy. They are one, and they are two, and thus that’s the rub, that’s the difficulty in speaking about it.
The Shakti exudes an initiatory current, an initiatory fire, a subtle vibration, or an intense vibration that tunes the recipient like a fork, like a tuning fork so that the entire being can remain steadily angled or aligned with, as closely as possible, that nothingness that transcends everything. In that way, the Shakti is a most potent, cohesive force between relative and Absolute.
To live without the Absolute, life won’t feel right. To live without this understanding of energy, even realization of the Absolute won’t feel right. There will be a great disconnection between being and action, between nothingness and relativity. That’s the value of the Shakti that can help mend this tremendous division that naturally occurs in existence. There’s nothing unnatural about that division, but with a human being a higher understanding can happen. It gives rise to a higher unity, a higher sense of unity, one that is greater than just that deep duality between silence and action.
Action never enters into silence. Silence never leaps out of itself to meet action. But, with the introduction of energy, all of this becomes palatable. Not just the idea or notion of energy but the experience of it, feeling the Shakti in you as you in that all-pervasive quiet place, feeling both. The Shakti performs an additional function of subtly tuning the nervous system in its subtlest functioning to that transcendental silence so that there’s more of a sense of connection. Even though there is no connection, the subtlety will give the feeling like there is a connection and, therefore, create more wholeness and awareness.
The Shakti has its own mind. It goes on performing its feet of radiation power until the mind is blissed out in it, ’til the whole bodily being is thrilled by it. Without these high perceptions of ecstasy, Bliss, and thrill, you don’t know your own nervous system. You don’t know what notes it’s capable of singing. It’s important to know the high frequency of Bliss. Even relative Bliss, you can taste with the help of something like the Shakti. Otherwise, you’ll remain a non-knower to your own capability of radical happiness, happiness which involves subtlety of perception.
I’m not saying that that is equatable or equal to liberation, but I’m saying it is also a valid area of spiritual investigation. It’s a valid area in which to become aware, know, understand, and taste the highest Bliss and Blisses that are available. You will perforce experience the worst fatality of human existence which is death. That won’t be spared you. So, why not know all that is equal and opposite to that? Why not know the highest states of mystical and absorptive ecstasies that are possible? Again they are not replacements for moksha, but they go alongside that investigation. They add to it. They fulfill it.
