Talking About Avatars, February 13, 2010

David: But Avatars come into this world. They descend into this world. That’s what Avatar means. It means descent. So, it takes on the connotation of a descended human being, that is right out of the Absolute, just poof, with no karma, no real human karma other than the context of their life if you want to call that karma. They may go to school. They may get involved with politics or whatever, things which would be considered karmic. Karma just means action.

They’re fully involved in action, and therefore there’s some content that surrounds them. But at the heart of it all is this Absolutely stainless birth that can’t be imagined with the human mind. But they come in fully realized with all the power and all the auspiciousness that that suggests, which means that they might even practice sadhana to open that up, both as a gesture to show that they too have taken on a full human ignorant birth and then consciously work through it.

What they do is they adapt to the present world consciousness in the form that they take. They get to know the ignorance of that yuga or that time, and then they dispel it with their yoga practice. So, they get a sense of what they’re dealing with again. They become familiarized with that unique kind of ignorance that is happening at that time in history, in human history, and then they just incinerate all of that with their presence.

Participant 1: The image of a crowbar…. For the Divine to get leverage, it comes right down into there [further comment inaudible].

David: That’s right. It explodes from the inside. It comes in. The descent happens. There’s really no descent, it’s just a manifestation. The word manifestation might be a better word than descent because descent implies an angle and then a path of travel, but this is a spontaneous and Absolute manifestation of the whole Universe, the power of the cosmos in a human life. It’s that which is inserting itself aggressively into a particular realm, in this case, the human realm.

P1: [Comment inaudible] …hope for the human race is that this actually happens.

David: It’s organic. It’s natural to happen. Avatars come down the way birds come down from a tree. They fly down and they spend some time on the ground, then they fly up again. It’s quite natural.

P1: It’s amazing and beautiful that that is part of nature.

David: The balance of the Earth could not be upheld without these great lights coming down and really giving an opportunity for other human beings to evolve. That’s what they do. They just hang out and radiate that light massively so that other people’s yogic processes can be stimulated, activated, and fulfilled. They also balance all kinds of other energies. They balance the climate. They balance everything imaginable.
