Facing Your Realization, October 28, 2011

I can’t give it to you. I’d like to, don’t get me wrong. I’d like to just free everybody by looking at them, because I want to be in this state with you all the time. I want to be in this state with everybody. But it requires your participation in your own gradually liberating awareness. It’s a combination of total surrender, total trust in your experience…, that you have experienced That and That alone to such a degree that a conviction develops which can’t be shaken.

That conviction is in the mind, the relative mind, not in some Absolute Mind, not in the Absolute Being. All you can get are episodic glimpses in the Transcendental Field. That’s the most you can get – and if it begins it’s going end. Any spiritual experience, if it starts, its going stop. I don’t care how big it is. I don’t care whether it lasts for ten years. If you can identify a place or a point in time where it began, it’s going to end. There’s no way around that, none, ever.

So, you have to learn how to start thinking from within your realization. You have to start recognizing your realization from within your relative mind and have a go at it there; not say, “Oh, I’m the victim of such sublime Bliss. I’m just thrust into that state, submerged spontaneously.” At some point it’s going to get old, no matter how many times you undergo that; it’s going to, at some point, ring hollow. You are going to be saying, “Oh, my god, this is going in circles. This is becoming a circular game, like a circus.” Like those Dobbie Horses at Berkeley, they go around and around and up and down. Right?

Transcend, descend; transcend, descend; transcend, descend; and you are all going in a circle; and it’s all amusing for a while, until you realize you are still on the wheel of suffering, even though you are transcending, even though you are with a great teacher and you are getting great glimpses.

Because the real work has to do with you facing yourself, facing your realization with utter honesty, and becoming divested of all of all yourself importance, in the midst of your realization.
