If you dig deep enough into the mind, you will strike on its Source, just as when you dig into the ground you get beyond the superficial soil, you get beyond the rocks, you get beyond the various layers of earth. At some point you hit water. You’ll hit a well. And that well has tremendous significance for everything that lives above ground. That well begins to have a profound effect on all the life forms, when its nourishment, when its water, finds its way to the surface. All kinds of beings can benefit.
In the same way, when the Enlightened Being has this remarkable transformation in his or her attention, there’s a similar upwelling in Energy, Light and Feeling. And That is also drunk by beings who are unable to make the personal journey to the well themselves. They get all the benefits of going to the well without having to actually excavate themselves.
So that’s the value of one who is in the state of Realization, the value that he or she offers to those who enjoy his or her company; in the most natural way, without even the involvement of belief, or worship, or any kind of idolizing of the personality of the Enlightened One. For the Enlightened One most certainly has a human dimension that just like anybody else’s. It’s just that they are not merely That.
