A Deep Secret, November 3, 2009

Participant 1: The Shakti feels especially strong to me…and the silence is there….It’s powerful.

David: So, it must be that that whole happening is outside of individuality. It’s beyond knowledge. It’s in the Advaita Vedantic field, beyond knowledge, beyond duality. You mentioned Shakti which is a quality. So, it must be that that Absolute state has qualities or fabric to it, which to me is very fascinating since we have this tradition of trying to reduce the Absolute to nothing but an empty or formless state. So, to think of it as having waves, and vibration, current, direction, intelligence, Bliss within it, represents a whole different kind of understanding and realization. Does that make sense?

P1: Mmhmm

David: What is actually going on here is completely beyond explanation or knowledge. It’s just being let in on something, like a secret, a big deep secret that you just enter into. If your goal is to try to figure all this out, it’s never going to be fulfilled. You just get struck enough with this Bliss, and eventually in some real sense only that exists at the end. But that’s about as much as you can say, which is not saying much. It’s really not a very revealing statement, but somehow it makes sense. So, a kind of Unity is displayed here. It’s mind boggling, isn’t it?

P1: It is.

David: I really don’t know what it is.
