I Have Not Received the Registration Email

Check your bulk / spam folder for any emails from us. You can stop our emails going into your bulk / spam folder by making sure that the email address 'admin@davidspero.org' is in your allowed contacts list.

How Do I Upload My Picture / Avatar?

You can upload a picture or avatar that will give your online presence a personalized look. Once you have registered and logged in to your user account, go to your user profile page and click on the 'Edit' tab. Scroll down the page and find the 'Picture' section. Click on the 'Browse' button to locate the picture that you want to use on your computer. You will then need to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the 'Submit' button.

You can upload any picture you want, just make sure that you have the permission to use it and aren't violating any copyrights. Maximum dimensions are 1600x1400 and the maximum size is 1024 kB.

Can I Change My Username?

At this time you cannot change your username. However you can always request that we close your account. Once your account is closed, you are welcome to register again using your preferred username.

Problems with Live Broadcasts

Problems with the visual or audio quality of a live broadcast are often due to your internet connection speed. If you are experiencing problems with the live broadcasts, please follow the tips below. Note: Dial-up modems do not offer a fast enough connection to receive streaming video. If you have a dial-up connection we strongly encourage you to upgrade to a high speed internet connection (e.g.: DSL or Cable).

  • You can find out your broadband speed by using this free website: SpeakEasy.net. You will need a speed of 700 Kbps speed or higher.
  • You may be able to call your internet service provider technical support line to find out how to make your connection faster.
  • Sometimes temporarily disabling a firewall will make your internet connection speed faster.
  • Your internet service provider may be able to suggest other solutions to help solve any other problems you are having.
  • You may need to upgrade your broadband service in order to receive good quality audio and visual.

Can I Have More Than One Account?

No, anyone who opens more than one account on the website will be blocked from logging in.

Community Blog Rules

The following rules apply for any website member who posts comments or blogs on Davidspero.org

1. Posts should be relevant to David Spero’s teachings.  This includes personal experiences about meditation, devotion and expansion of the heart, struggles on the spiritual path, explorations in understanding and knowledge, poems, etc. Use your own common sense with the understanding that this is a website dedicated to offering David’s wisdom to the world.

2. Be respectful to all users at all times.  If you come across impolite, rude, abusive or harassing posts, feel free to report it to the blog moderator at moderator@davidspero.org.

3. The blog language is English only.  When writing, reading or responding to any post, please honor the fact that English is a second language for many users of this site.

4. Posts containing product or service advertisements, or irrelevant and non-cohesive content will be considered spam. Any post considered spam will be removed.

5. Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and their post will be removed.

6. Posted URL's that are not linking directly to David's teaching are not allowed and will be edited out.

7. The posted text should be consistent with regard to "normal writing". It should not contain excessive UPPERCASE letters (as it seems like shouting) or contain excessive punctuation marks (????). Also, please refrain from using emoticons, large and small colored text and other unnecessary text displays.

8. Please refrain from posting images larger than 800x600. This guideline is considerate to members with slow internet speeds, and keeps the blog looking tidy.

9. Please do not post inappropriate material. If you would not feel comfortable viewing it at work, or in front of children or parents, don't post it!

10. Website staff reserve the right to edit and delete any post anywhere. They are also responsible for issuing warnings to any member when such a situation arises. It is to be remembered that this Community Blog is administered by a team of volunteers. All volunteers are assisting you during their spare time with only your gratitude as compensation. We ask you to consider that when communicating with staff.

11. David Spero’s Community Blog does not take any responsibility for any content posted by a member. All messages belong to their poster and they have the full responsibility for any violation upcoming as a result of their post.

So what happens if I break blog rules?

Depending on the severity of the infraction, a different course of action may be taken, but the usual practice is as follows:

1st rule break: (Minor offence): Corrected by the moderator. A personal message (PM) might be sent, and no further action taken.  For a more serious offence, a warning will be issued.

2nd rule break: Another warning will be issued.

3rd rule break:  On your 3rd warning, you will receive a temporary ban, the length of which will depend on the severity of the incident.

4th rule break:You will receive a permanent ban, meaning you will never be able to visit the blog again.
